Hello Ostianne, thank you for your questions

First of all, can you introduce yourself?

Hello everybody. I'm Ailyn and I'm 26 years old. I was born in Barcelona (Spain) in May 1982. I love reading, watching movies and playing videogames. Since I was a little girl I've loved music (all kind of styles). Now I live in Granada (Spain). I really like going for a walk in the mountains, and whenever I can, I go to my mothers' town in the Alpujarra. I'm a normal, happy and quiet girl.

How old were you when you began to sing? And when did you know you would be a singer?

It was about 11 or 12 at school. Some days they let us hear different songs of some singers, and one day there was one that brought the interest in me about wanting to sing. When I was 15 I told my family I wanted to be a singer, so I began studying in a Music School, but I was there for a brief period of time for personal reasons.

You have participated to a TV-show «X-Factor». Weren't you afraid of being only a «TV-Star» when you were in this show?

When I decided to go to the show I never asked myself that question. I saw it as an opportunity to be able to work in what I love most.

How did you discover the metal and Sirenia?

I discovered metal music one day while watching some TV. They played a video of Within Temptation, and I loved it so much, so I began searching info about this and other bands. I found Sirenia through Myspace, searching for metal bands to add as friends.

Why and how have you made application to be the new Sirenias' singer?

When we asked Sirenia to add us as friends in Myspace, we didn't know they were searching for a new singer, and we didn't know that it was the way to introduce yourself for the casting, so they could see and hear your music/videos from your profile. So it was a big surprise for me when I received an email, asking me If I wanted to go to the casting. It was an honour for me that a band like Sirenia wanted to see me in a casting, and it was a great opportunity to sing the music style that I love.

What do you enjoy in Sirenias' music?

In fact, I really enjoy everything, I think it is a great musical fusion. One side you've got the music, on the other side, the classical choirs, the male voices and the female voice... So everything put together makes fantastic and great songs. Strength and sensitivity, all together.

What are you expecting in being the new bands' singer?

I want to give the best of me so people and fans can enjoy Sirenia's music.

You will have three shows in June and July, (Hjørnet; Gothic Metal Palace (cancelled) and Masters of Rock). How do you feel about that? And how are preparing this shows?

I'm a little bit nervous, but at the same time I'm really looking forward to be in the shows as the new vocalist, so I'm really excited!

You're the fourth Sirenias' singer, so the audience can say: «okay, she will be with the band for one album, and then she will leave.» Aren't you afraid of this sort of reaction?

I think it's not strange that people think I will be in Sirenia just for one record and then I'll leave. But I hope I'll be in Sirenia not just for an album, but for the long future that awaits us.

There's a new guitarist in the band: Michael Krumins. Is it easier for you to not be the only new band member?

Since I finished the castings, and until now, all of them have been really nice to me, and they never treat me as 'the new one'. We get along really well and I feel very comfortable.

Do you want to write for Sirenia one day? And what kind of music or things (for example tales; an image, your life etc...) can inspire you?

I have always loved writing lyrics, and I would really like to write some day for Sirenia. I like to write about things that have happened in my life, or maybe fantastic things. I think the lyrics change depending on the moment I write them or my mood.

Would you enjoy singing with others artists from the metal scene? And who?

There are a lot of artist that I'd like to sing with, but without any doubt, I'd love to sing some day with Roy Khan from Kamelot... his voice and his performance skills are incredible!

Finally, have you something to say to people who will discover you and to Sirenias' fans?

I'd love to thank all the people who are supporting me and tell them I'll give my best for them.
